People are touring Adelaide to experience the peacefulness of a smaller and quieter city that still has some exceptional activities and sight to offer tourists and the locals. If you let your feet guide you and follow the quaint little alley ways around the city streets it will not be long before you reach a pleasant restaurant or mellow local bar to have a snifter of wine or a hard brewed beer. Adelaide is famous for some of its own ales and lagers which are sold all around the world and not just in Australia.

Walk along the broad walk or through the windy docking yards so that you will get a bird’s eye view of the peaceful life that is available in Adelaide. Relaxation even during the week days is always hinted in the casual ways of the city’s people. There are shopping malls and strips to window shop or go crazy and buy something that you cannot get in any other part of the world. Go to a park or playground and enjoy the smell of the cut grass and the happy children laughing. If you like to see big animals then enjoy Adelaide zoo because it is one of the better animal displays in South Australia.

Traveling to Adelaide was a trip I will never forget. Since I live in Queensland then you could say that this trip would make Adelaide the most southern part of Australia that I have visited so far. While we were there we visited the Barossa Valley where they claim the best wine in Australia is made. I do not know if that is technically true but the wine sure tasted good and they have many wines that have won international wine competitions. The Barossa Valley is a beautiful place to see in the summer time when the vineyards are full of tourists and there are still plenty of good wines left to buy. After all the rain we have had recently it has made this part of the country look very green and lush which in itself is part of the attraction.

We hired a car from the car hire Adelaide airport branch and drove into the Adelaide hills where we stayed at a magnificent bed and breakfast resort. It was only a short walk down a deserted street to find the local bar where we sat on the balcony and ate a delicious pub dinner while watching the sun go down. We were even lucky enough on that day to see a few kangaroos jump down the hillside and off into the forest. Of all the animals we did see the local bed and breakfast resident koala sat up the same tree for several days while we were there which gave us some exceptional photos. It really was the perfect relaxing holiday and I am looking forward to doing the same again another time.
